FAQ
65DollarHIDKits.com believes in bringing you all the facts about HID Kits. Nobody is more experienced than us when it come to selling and installing HID Kits. If you do not see your answer below, please feel free to contact us at anytime.
Q. Can't I just purchase a stronger watt halogen bulb to get a brighter light?
A. XENON HID Kits are 35 watts while traditional halogen bulbs are 55 watts. Even though XENON HID Kits draw less wattage and current, they produce 4 times more light than halogen bulbs. Stores offer higher powered halogen bulbs that can be slightly brighter than stock, but they are still halogen bulbs and will not come close to what a HID Kit will give you. Be aware that a lot of sellers try to market their halogen bulbs as "HID Replicas" to make you think you will be getting similiar HID light output. However, this is not true and unless you buy a full HID Kit, you will not get the light output you want.
Q. Can I Install the kit myself?
A. Yes, our kits are 100% Plug 'N Play, so their is not cutting or rewiring of any kind. Installation time depends on the vehicle itself, but most installations for a professional will take only 10 minutes from start to finish. For beginners, an average installation time is 20 minutes. We offer technical support over the phone and via email. So if you have any questions or need help, please feel free to contact us.
Q. What is the difference between genuine Xenon HID Kit and Xenon gas-filled bulbs?
A. Xenon is the name of the gas that is used in HID Kits. All HID bulbs are filled with this to produce a super bright light output. There are also Xenon gas filled halogen bulbs. They will be slightly brighter than stock, but as stated above, they are still halogen bulbs and will not come close to the light output of a HID Kit.
Q. Could I re-install the original halogen bulbs after the Xenon HID Kit has been installed?
A. Yes, since the HID Kit is Plug 'N Play, you can un-install it at anytime and replace your halogen bulbs. Then you can use the HID Kit on any vehicle that has the same bulb size. If you need a different bulb size, simply buy new bulbs that will fit into the vehicle. The ballasts are 100% universal and will work with any of our bulbs.
Q. What does the K mean on the color temps?
A. The K stands for kelvin. As the kelvin changes, so does the color and light output. Choosing which color temp you want is simply deciding which color you would like to see on your vehicle.
Q. Does higher the kelvin mean higher the light output?
A. No, it is completely opposite. As the kelvin goes higher, you actually receive less light output. This is the same with any light bulb on the market...more color you receive, less light output you get. Now, keep in mind that no matter what color temp you get, these are still HID Kits. So they will be much brighter than halogen bulbs.
Q. Are HID Kits legal to use on the street?
A. No, HID Kits are 100% illegal for street use. Per federal law, a HID Kit has to be manufactured and installed by the maker of your vehicle. All other HID Kits do not have the DOT approval and are considered illegal for road use. This means every single HID Kit you see being sold is illegal for road use. Some online sellers still advertise that they have DOT Approved HID Kits and that you can choose any color. This is absolutely false and they are simply telling you this to make a sale. 65DollarHIDKits.com sells HID Kits for off-road use only. We do not endorse using our HID Kits on the street. We are not liable if you decide to break the law and use our HID Kits on the road. 65DollarHIDKits.com will also not be responsible for damage to your vehicle resulting from the use, misuse, or inability to use a 65DollarHIDKits.com product.
Q. Do you accept returns?
A. No, all sales are final and we do not accept returns or offer refunds. However, all of our products come with warranties to ensure you are protected from the product going bad.
